The Blitzbasic toolbox : http://www.blitzbasic.com/toolbox/toolbox.php.

A little bit of everything....check out the free Pacemaker animation toolset---exports to .x.

another from there: Advanced Landscape Editor :http://www.blitzbasic.com/toolbox/toolbox.php?tool=77 also exports to .x....

This appears to be an excellent alternative to Crazy Bump especially the cost.

FREE POLY REDUCER BELOW:

Quote
Balancer is a fast, efficient and easy to use tool for optimizing 3D polygonal models.
Polygon Reduction

Balancer utilizes a high quality, high performance polygon reduction (aka polygon simplification or decimation) to preserve the visual appearance of your model. Polygon reduction is computed for all possible levels of detail (LOD) in one shot. This entire LOD hierarchy allows you instantly pick a required optimized model that gives the best trade-off between visual appearance and the number of triangles.
Rendering Performance Optimization

Modern graphics hardware and rendering applications utilize memory and vertex cache to dramatically speed up rendering and geometry processing. To make your models benefit from this, Balancer features a fast and efficient triangle reordering.
Features
High quality, high performance mesh simplification
Construction of the entire LOD hierarchy in one shot
An advanced user interface to instantly select an optimized model with the desired number of triangles
Texture coordinates preservation
Normals can be either preserved or recomputed
Preservation and simplification of the model boundaries
Boundaries defined by discontinuities of materials, layers, texture coordinates are supported
Visualization of boundaries
Joining of vertices given a user-specified threshold
Joining of normals and texture coordinates to eliminate corresponding false boundaries
Effective, high performance mesh stripification
Fast and intelligent triangle reordering for best visualization performance
depending on your rendering method
Target rendering methods are
triangle strips, general rendering, array based rendering
Supported 3D formats:
Wavefront (.obj)
Supported image formats:
JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, PPM, PBM
Supported operating systems:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7

Download Balancer Lite **FREE**

The limits for a single mesh are 15000 triangles and 10000 vertices.

If your entire model is large but has many small independent meshes or layers, you can still use Balancer Lite. Before loading your model, enable Balancer to split the model into independent meshes in Tools | Options | Importers | Wavefront .obj.
Tested and works!

Buy PRO for $52

Overall works great! preserves UVs, which is excellent!

We're pleased to announce that gile[s ]is now free to use!
Get it here!

You can use the following code to activate the full version.
Registration name: Freeware
Registration code: GLS-7781-C787-C274

We hope you will find a use for it in your games and experiments.
We will still be updating it occasionally, so feel free to suggest improvements and report bugs!

Thanks to one and all who bought and helped improve gile[s ] over the years! It's been a lot of fun!

now, lets make some kickass shadowmaps for 3DRad!!!

Any idea how to paint a texture on created terrains?

I can only register giles 1.36 which does'nt have the same paint ability as the 2.x.x Alphas, dissappointing :(

giles 2 uses 1.36 registration... so just install 2 after you registered.

 :) Hi all.!
There's a new "FREE" tool for making indoor level.
Maplet.
It was created for Blitz 3D (so models are exported in B3D) but it could export in.X format too ! Just the 3d rad's loving format !

But the lightmaping is only export in the B3D files... not a big problem for 3D rad because you can add pointlights in the 3D rad editor.... 8)

Grab the full version :

Have a nice day. ;)

Ive tried it a few times. It is a good project, although it is an abandoned project. The Creator stopped working on it and the  last version if I remember correctly is a beta and not even a stable one at that. I did use it in one of the car games I created a while back and what I did was that I exported it to .obj then imported that to sketchup then to 3D Rad.

I just came across this website that has great collections of sounds and only sound and the best part is that they are free to download and use, here is the link http://www.freesound.org

I also came across sound converter from stereo to mono http://www.tucows.com/preview/607938 I have download it free and used it free but its shareware I think, check it out see what u guys think
If anyone knows any better free to use converter let me know please.

That is all I got for now, if I come across any more good and useful tools I'll let u know, peace.
Hmmm...
Give me a moment can't you see, I'm thinking.
