Just a FYI for those that do not know but, StudioGPU has closed and released MachStudio Pro2 totally for FREE now. Here is a link on CNet where you can still download it, 504MB download and one of the minimum requirements is DirectX 11 so it wont run on XP. I am still downloading it myself anyway, why pass up a free software when it comes to making games!

Video blocks has a thing going where you can get 7 days of free downloading... and did I mention royalty free?

The catch is you have to give them your paypal or credit card and if you forget to cancel, you'll get charged $80.

It's never a good idea to use your credit card or paypal account for something you don't intend to buy. This type of "free" promotion relies on peoples' forgetfulness, and intentionally abuses the clients trust.

If you install this Firefox add-on  https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/?src=ss

Then browse this on-line resource ( using mouse-over ) to preview the video etc clips...
You'll soon realize that you'll have another free option to "interact" with this on-line data for free. :)

Probably the best 3d model website: Google 3D Warehouse (Models made with Sketchup)You can find almost any kind of model here.

I bought and use Sketchup Pro and have lots of the plugins that make it comparable with other modeling programs to a degree ... but do not hold your breath on Sketchup models unless you make them yourself. What you see is not what you get transferring from Sketchup to 3DRad as many Sketchup users prefer to use the backfaces for texturing and many models also use both for texturing and viewing. In Sketchup it is fine but in 3DRad it is a nightmare as backfaces do not exist here so all you see is a blank space.
As for Sketchup also if you only use the free version you are lacking MANY needed tools and plugins the pro version has to make decent models. Basic shapes and objects are just fine but complex models with free Sketchup to be used in 3DRad do not exist.

I always used the free Sketchup. The full version costs $400! That is so expensive!

It does now but back in the day when it was not used as much it was a little cheaper so I got lucky. Upgrading from 7 to 8 cost as much as when I bought 7 so I thought it had gotten more expensive, future versions might go even higher. Compared to Autodesk and Maya pricewise though you can not beat that.

You have to upgrade your version? Why can't you just get free updates?

the official site link of trueSpace (Calligari) is no more active (it was removed a couple of years ago).
I'd recommend this stable link:

to moderators: this post may be deleted after correcting the link.

Here's an interesting tool for photoshop users: http://www.quixel.se/

It's sure to help immensely if you are wanting to make triple A looking stuff.

Although a bit more expensive, Crazybump is the alternative if you don't have photoshop. http://www.crazybump.com/
