lookin really good shadmar! is this still shader model 3_0 only? being that your not useing textures to displace the vertex I'm thinking a sm_2_0 or sm_2_0a might be possible. but it's looking great!
using 3Drad 7.22

system specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2Ghz
8 gig ram
Geforce GTX 650 1024 MB GDDR5
DirectX 11

I think I can do it on sm2. I will give it a testspin, thanks Gene.

Added an alien shot, showing how you can colorize all textures.

@Gene,
About going down to sm2_0
ps_2_0 support 64 instructions, somehow I got 72 and plan to put in some more, however ps_2_a compiled ok :)
thanks Gene.

@Allan
Does it look dry ? :)

that's cool shadmar, had a feeling 2_a would have enough instructions to cover it. cool.

Default :

Playing with colors and light :

I thought I ran a small beta, this does not support export of shader, but you can save all shader settings and export them in the next release. (will be soon)

You can load meshes and textures or use the ones provided for anything you want.

Features :
-----------
Load Mesh (.x)
Load textures and normalmaps.
Save/Load settings
Individual UV and blending
Specular/Phong/selfshadowing
Individual texture RGB adjustment
Sunlight direction

Just unrar and run the .exe (You don't need 6.41 or 6.42 to run the editor, it's standalone)

PS! Require gfx card to support pixelshader 2_a

To run your prog I needed to set my gfx card settings to advanced. Works cool, though with high/low settings the texture disapeares and the object gets transparent. Also the export button does not work. You could add a first person view to the scene to see it from close by (ando is walking, but you can't see the scene trough his eyes.
For noobs also an exit button is needed (not everybody knows how to use Esc.

Will it also be possible to paint a texture on parts of the object?

Instructions for zooming: a and z
Instructions for fly: f
Instructions for rotating the scene: arrow keys
Instructions for placing andro: click on the scene

Wow, wow, wow!

This is greaaaat! My little suggestion would be to add a waterplane. For ocean, river, lake...

Anyway, this is excellent piece of software.

Thanks shadmar, you rock the 3Dradworld!

Thanks guys for the feedback.
Exit button would be nice, having a person walk on it would be impossible before we can generate pol/ply from .x

About the trojan, its just heuristic warning from avira, it's not a trojan. Avira is pretty jumpy anyway.
It's from the wrapper doing decrypting using axcrypt.

I can build the final version without this if it's a problem. Source will be open, but it's not like there are some big secrets in there anyway, and hacking it isn't really hard.

I could add waterplane etc etc, but you only export the shader for the terrain, not any objects, so it kind of defeats the purpose, since you have to add water in the 3d Rad editor yourself anyway.

Euh.. Daniel, I'm not sure I want to see this  ;D ;D ;D

Perhaps later, who knows, I will do some research, thanks :)

Also the export button does not work.

I know, it will be enabled in the final version, and the shader plaugin will also be provided so you can plug your shaded terrain in your projects :)
