The last level of my new game is in space, and so are the first few of the next game. I love space; astrology is my favorite science. :)

I think you meant the other one: astronomy ... debatable but, astrology is not science  :P

Looking very nice Mike.

Have you considered adding some lense flare? It might really add to the effect.

yeah... this was just a quick lighting experiment with some terrain i had laying around and a few of the default planets... i was trying to get a moon like appearance, or something that would convey the visual quality of being on an alien planet...  my space stuff may wind up allowing the player to land on the moon, and i had a few free moments...

if i decide to go any further with this i will add a lens flare element to the scene... it definitely would add to the scene...

an prior example shows early lens flare attempt in space scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdSGFd-LpSE

Hello Mike.
The video looks good,I think it captures the feel of what you're going for.
It's nice to see a few people like space games,on the forum.
I am also working on a space game,I have been working on the game mechanics since January.
Good luck with your experiment.

Best regards
blackpawe.
