Author Topic: a Percentage Loading Bar for Compiled Projects  (Read 2270 times)

« on: October 20, 2011, 09:22:06 AM »
3dRad Provides to users in Compiling a Project that they be able to Make a Slide-Show while They Loading ,
But ! Can't We Make a Sequences Pictures as a Reference on the Loading Real-Time instead of that Creepy
Default Loading Progress bar ?! We Can , But what we Can't that we make it as a Video type such as it never
provides unless a frame per second ! , you can't do this with Sequences Loading Pictures , only a Bars.

The First Frame

The Last Frame

The Idea :
I've Converted a Loading Video Screen from a Game Named Assassin's Creed (by RADVideo Application) as Jpeg Frames ,
in the Loading Screen Video there's a 100 Frame Represents a 100 Percentage ..

its Benefits :
you can make your Game a Distinctive by these Sequences instead of the Default Progress bar you've

To Make it ..
You have to Convert the Loading Video (by any skilled program) to an Exactly 100 Pictures as a Frames
in your Compiled Project's Folder: <<Your Project>>\3DRad_res\projects and Rename them Relatively
to your Project Name Plus the Underscore and the Number of Images Sequentially
Example :
Your Project named 'MyGame' , So your Pictures must be named Sequentially :
MyGame_001 , MyGame_002 , MyGame_003 .. and so on
Note :
  • the first Frame of Loading must be named Without numbering , don't rename it as MyGame_00 ! but add no underscore nor numbers and let it just as MyGame.
  • Hide the Loading Progress default bar from the Compiling menu before Compiling your Game

Download ..

What Shall make a Bugs ..
  • That you Rename Pictures incorrectly , Whether in Numbering or in Renaming according to your Project's Name
  • That you add more than 100 Pictures in your Compiled Project's Folder, It's Important to Divide your Loading Video
    to 100 Frame

Don't Worry if you've Followed what I Told you , you'll never have a Bug !

Thanx .. Enjoy ..

Very interesting idea. Thank you for sharing it. There are however 2 problems
1.. The artwork is from a commercial game kit
2.. The almost 50 meg file consists mostly of images

Sounds a bit useless to me. It's much more fun to make a special loading bar, like in my zombie game.

This is a zombie filling up from bottom to the top. You can also make stuff like a car driving from the left of the screen to the right.

You're Welcome, and I Know that it's Expensive , but Imagine how Expensive it will be if it's a Video a too .. so it's the Same Idea but in Images ! Source video is more than 50 Meg , and it Won't be Played in a Loading Screen because 3dRad doesn't Support Videos as a Loading !!

the Attachment by the way is an Optional Download ,, Just a Test .. The all topic was for the Idea it self.
You Can make your Own , and it won't be Expensive this time

Yup ! it's according to the Loading Progress of Course , it Can not be a Video Formation (such as a Constant Frame per Second),
its only benefit that you Dispense with the Default Loading Bar , which Cannot be Edited unless in its Color .. if you edit your Loading Default Progress bar with a Texture-for example-it will stretch that Texture !

Nice Work man , Keep on it  ;)

but to even make a Car Driving from Left to Right , it Shall be the same in Expensive , I Will Produce also 100 Frame Image to do that Realistically , Same Idea but Relative Views , everyone then Shall make the Percentage according to the theme of his Game , if it's-as you said-a Car Racing Game , The Maker shall make the Loading Screen as a Car Representing The Percentage , and so on ...

-- Nice work by the way , and Good Luck with your Game --

Looks nice. And if you make a stand alone game on cd/dvd, nobody cares about extra mb's.
