Author Topic: Freestyle X3 Redone: The stunt park game is back!  (Read 2311 times)

« on: March 20, 2010, 08:43:45 PM »
Hey guys, I know I posted this a while back, but I re-did the game in a much better way.

Freestyle X3 is a game where you drive around and go off jumps, trying to get the highest score in 5 minutes. You can compare your scores in 2 different levels, an off-road level and an asphalt arena-styled level, to each other and you your previous high scores. The arena level has over 30 separate jumps and the option to extend your wings for maximum airtime! 2-player multiplayer rounds out the combination. Can you really catch it, and reach the ABSURD air??? Only time will tell - Enjoy!

seems pretty good
i'd suggest lowering delay time for steering and increasing steering angle though

Currently using 7.22

arena, the default steering return is like .8 or something. needs to be around .1

also the ramp that you hit when coming out of the tube, either the skinmesh is off or you got tome backfaces on the colision part

and the game ends if you fall out of the arena

also nice job on the protecting the high score, that will definitely keep out the average person from altering it

Currently using 7.22

thanx. I also noticed teh ramp issue today, but it only happens sometimes. That is a little weir, though, because it is the exact same model as some other jumps in the level, just recolored. I'll look into it. thanx!

P.s. it would be very helpful if someone else commented... :)

I jumped too high in both the arena and off road.  It ended my game!   :'(

yeah, I could reset the car on the arena instead of ending the game. But, on the offroad, the car is comprised of so many objects that resetting one or all of them causes them all to go haywire. any suggestions?

That's awesome! Did you use sketchup to model the course?
« Reply #8 on: March 22, 2010, 04:09:03 PM »
yes! To simplify things on the multiplayer course, I prefabbed it in sketchup and put it in MP. I obviously added some other things in the editor, though. I was going a little off of Jet Car Stunts, but my spin system is totally screwed up.

Is it ok if I use your models for my own games? I really hate modeling.
