Hey I just did some tests on water reflections. Having a 100% plane water gives odd reflections when streched just adjusted tiles, and I did a test using a slightly hemispherical mesh for the water and the reflections were much better.

See the difference

1st is is 100% planar 
2nd is slightly hemispherical. :)

Not sure but it looks almost planar in 3drad, x,z stretched, y shrinked. x,z to y is about 400:1 orso on a smoothed hemisphere.

Your waterplane is a true hemisphere?  Could you describe how you went about creating it?  Looks cool.
