hi there  ;D
Does anyone know any good tuts for Texturing terrain displacement maps in Photoshop.
been googling for days with no luck ,
only can find tuts on making the displacement map not texturing them.

A displacement map as in heightmaps?
L3DT reads heightmaps and build textures for them and exports 3ds and obj which is easyly converted to .x in fragmotion.

what I usualy do in photoshop is using shadows curves to make the basic elevations (landmass, underwater), then I retouch it directly in max and reexport to photoshop.
Not sure it's the fastest way to do it :)
But I made a lot of land for Oblivion like this...
