Author Topic: 3D Rad forum shutting down on June 30, 2014  (Read 760 times)

« on: June 17, 2014, 05:46:24 AM »
Dear 3D Rad users,

as you have certainly noticed, I haven't been able to work on 3D Rad or even post on this forum for a very long time.

Soon I will not be able to support forum moderation either unfortunately.

On June 30, 2014 this forum will be closed to new posts.

However the huge amount of information in it will be kept online for now, available for browsing. The rest of the website will still run for some time.

l want to say Thank You to all current moderators that have kept the forum in order so far!

I also want to thank all new, old and ancient 3D Rad users for sharing their knowledge during all these years  :)

Hopefully somebody will be able to run a 3D Rad community site somewhere else. If so, please feel free to post a link to it here!

I hope all users that are enjoying the software will be able to keep doing so somehow, even after the site will be eventually shut down!

I wish you all the best of luck!

- Fernando

This is some very sad news...

Fernando, would donations be able to save the forum? Could you assign someone else as admin?

And besides that, thank you. Thank you for years of maintaining this forum and one of the most special game engines every made.  ;)

Sad news, but the spirit will live on.

My personal thanks for all you did, Fernando, without this remarkable engine the world of game making would never have opened up to me (and, I'm sure, countless others), you have done incredible work and I wish you every success in your current and future ventures

Now is the time for the forum to decide on a new home, I suggest everyone throws their suggestion in then a nominated person runs a random selector program written in RAD to make the selection - no fragmentation, no personal agendas - let RAD decide :)

THANKS  For The Good Long Ride Fernando...

3DRAD Was, And Remains To Be,  A Unique And PowerFul Game Development Tool...

The News Regarding The Forum Status Is An Unfortunate Turn Of Events, As There Are Many
Who Rely On The Forum For The Exchange Of Knowledge And Ideas And As A Point Of Focus,
Are Going To Be Left "Homeless"...

But Life Goes On...

Again... THANK YOU For The 3DRAD Experience... Overall, It Has Been A Positive Force And Enabler For,  Not Only Myself, But For The Myriad Others Who Shared The Dream...

Please Keep US Advised On Any Plans To ReEnter The "Market"...

ok but Fernando what I want to know is why haven't you been updating 3drad anyway.
did somthing happen?
it would be awsome for 3drad to get updated to v7.23 because there are still bugs that need to be fixed.
but you know what it is a good thing I started to learn on how to use unity even though I'm getting really frustrated on just trying to set up a car.
I be trippin!

Hello everyone, this is sad, but if paid a hosting among all and creating a forum maybe, or looking for a free forum or something, the important thing is not to stop, all need the forum, what will happen to Mike and his community project, between other fantastic projects, Greetings - TheHades24

Thanks, Fernando for this great software! It's very sad that you'll be not able to support the 3D Rad's forum more, but still I'm waiting for a new update. If you find a way again to open the forum it will be greatful for every 3DRad user.  :'(

This is quite sad, :( but remember guys we had a really great time on this forum, i have been on this forum from only a year or so, but in these days i learned a lot and most of all made some great friends as i don't have much friends.i just want to thank all the forum members and those who helped me, and Fernando who kept the forum alive for so many years. We knew that this day had to come some day, but just be happy for the past and hopeful for the future. we should look for another forum and keep 3d rad alive for the upcoming developers who hope for a better future.keep going!

The last few days I've been using 3DRad to prototype a little technical simulation I'm currently working on, and I recall reminding myself at the time... what an amazing piece of software this is!
Thank you, Fernando, for this ingenious tool and for the five years of fun (and a few more to come, I hope) I've had in using it.

I've not been too active lately on the forum side, but, for sure, I will remain promoting 3DRad on my website (I'm not the 3DRaddict for nothing)!

All the best,Fernando! :D
