Author Topic: Car Showroom skin tools  (Read 407 times)

hi, again :)

still I am using 3drad for my simrace game car add-ons, to create a simple tool for skin makers.
from time to time I could put here some latest info and download links :)

what is Car Showroom skin tool:
  • The showroom application is a virtual garage for car model, you can rotate and zoom the car there.
    The showroom application, if runs in a window mode, allows to refresh a texture edited in another paint tool.
    Some of the showroom applications are also a genstring code help tool - by switching the code table value the skin maker can immediately see what for current mesh will change. Such genstring codes are used at car-addons.

thanks guys,
my (hobby) work is focused on the racesim games now, but I just still love 3drad, so I am trying to use this editor at the racesim scene too, for the showroom projects or showroom screensavers :)
it could maybe bit increase the slowly dying interest into 3drad, who knows  :)

another showroom images with Ford Mark IV attached.

as usual the models look fantastic
yes... beautiful car models... ranks right up there in appearance with Mic's car models as good as you can get with 3DRAD's lighting capabilities...

question... what is the purpose of the showroom... to display your models, or to allow users to customize models used in the various games that you've created models for... or to allow users to make models for a 3DRAD game... or what... i never got that part...

A little question...
How do you achieved this soft shadow lighting? I really want to achieve it...
If we don't give up we can achieve the unthinkable!

@KO3bMA: oh, thank you :)
well, the latest showroom projects are made with 3DRad 7.22, the earlier with 6.50, but the code is almost same.
ah, the tank thingy... well, I keep my 3d and 3DRad projects on hdd, so maybe some day I will touch it again  ;)

@TheHades24, Power Supersport: yes, all the rooms was made by me directly for 3DRad  :)
the floor/room shadow lighting is a pure paint, no special software tool or script was used to generate such shadows. in the scene projects is no skinmesh 3d shadow infact, I wanted to do it simple as it gets 8)

@PowerSupport

just put a "soft shadow" image  transparency under whatever you want to "shadow"... works well enough when the ground is flat...

if the object is gonna move, link it via iObjectChildTransform() or Jess's LocalToParent()...
