i've got a 4k x 4k terrain and the texture is jittering in spots as i walk across the scene...  anybody know why

Probably not such a simple solution but, I get the jitters when I forget to uncheck Display Geometry in RigidBody dialog... - the SkinMesh and RB tend to 'fight' over which of their matching geometry gets rendered.
Other than that, is it bump mapped? - maybe the normal map needs to be tweaked?

... or maybe a self-shadowing problem? -non matching shadow mesh

Hi Mike It's possible there are duplicate faces in those areas. I use Fragmotion to weld all vertices and remove duplicates faces.

thx for the help guys...

after looking carefully, i found 2 "holes" in the mesh... used UUwrap to collapse (weld) the vertices together... that seemed to cure the problem...
