My advise, pull it first through fragMOTION. Frag is as... 'Sensitive' as 3D Rad considering .x models.

From fragMOTION export it to .x again with the known settings.

Right, Thanks Roberto. :D

But don't enable (set, reset before blending, spline blending) in Animation section.

I thought you already solved it.

Take a look at this. This is how I export my 3ds max 2013 animated characters to 3D Rad: http://www.3drad.com/forum/index.php?topic=10224.msg90318#msg90318.

When you export the mesh from 3ds max 2012 to fragMOTION, make sure that the mesh is already skinned to the bones.

Okay, you just stopped making sense, we could be doing this for another five posts.

Why don't you give me your model and let me see if I can import it for you?

Okay, I got your file, PMed you back.

I got it working in 3D Rad in exactly the way I told you before: opened the file in 2012, export mesh to .smd and opened that file in fragMOTION. Then I exported the animations as .smd and merged them on the first file in frag. That's it.
