i had a lil time to work on the project today... fixed the doors thing and discovered some more issues i hadn't anticipated...

here's what it looks like with the point light shader applied (still using placeholder graphics)...

i used imposter script to make the other floors, but immediately saw that the first floor had an additional door (entrance) that floors 2 thru 4 don't...

also, the shader light didn't paint the imposters like i thought they would... they're all being affected by the single light on the first floor....

so it looks like imposters are out if i want the lighting is gonna be different on every floor...

oh well   :-[

anyway...

overall, it's not that bad... a lil more work than expected, but the results look promising...  from the inside i can see how this looks like you're actually in a building...

note: there sunlight object is set to black... there are no point lights in scene, the lighting is done by the shader... the meshes are one sided only... should help performance a bit...

all i got done with this today was to steal some textures from the original Medal Of Honor to see what they'd look like... i was getting a lil bored with the stones...

i wanted to add the stairs, the fill areas between the floors and the stairs, the door opening moldings,  and apartment walls, but didn't get around to doing any of that...

tomorrow...

haven't forgotten totally about this....

latest work:
door moldings added and facia for space between the floors at the stairs added...

latest revealation:
i'm gonna have to make each room separately if i want the light control that i'm looking for...

anyways... here's what it looks like...

the walls are solid when viewed from inside...
