Cartography Shop is another lightmapping software that 3DRAD developers should be aware of...

it's really easy to use, and in addition to lightmapping, it can serve as a modelling and texturing app for designing architectural scenery...   so you can design, skin, place lights, and lightmap...

and it's now free...

read about all the features and download here-> http://www.thegamecreators.com/?m=view_product&id=2101

(attached below is a pic of what i did in CShop in about an hour)

The pictures look nice. I downloaded it, but when I open it, I can't click the 'Import' button. Do you know why this is?

Another problem. I tried adding my own texture, this one:

But I get an error: 'Failed to load "C:\Program Files\Cartography Show\textures\Custom\RedBrick.bmp".
Please help me.

Oops, sorry to bother you with that second post, I solved it. I manually changed the .jpg in .bmp. I should not have done that. I pulled it through Paint.net and everything was fine.

The program is nice so far, but I have another problem, I can't create anything more! When I click, nothing happens! I tried everything! There is a screenshot.

Yes, it's me again. Now for some reason I could create things again. I created a little scene, a wall on a grass terrain, and exported it as .x. Now I have some textures and .x files. Now how do I get both the .x files in the one skinmesh file? I posted the files.

LOL... keep on going just the way you've been going... in a few days you'll be a CShop expert...

as far as importing stuff... i rarely do that... but read the help file topic on PREFABS... i think that'll help you...

this program is primarily for making stuff... buildings and such...   you can import prefabs, but i think that's intended for stuf luke door handles... chains... and other small things you can't really make in cshop...

good luck...

Okay, but now the main problem is now how to import stuff from CShop to 3DRad.

Here you can find several tools and utilities for CShop.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=48422&b=13

Among them is a plugin for caligari gamespace (which will also work in truespace) for exporting game(true)space meshes as CShop prefabs. truespace is free for a long time and you can find them easily on the net.

and deleD has cshop importer and maybe from them you can get better directx export.

hope this will help.
