Author Topic: Aerial Refueling Proof Of Concept  (Read 631 times)

« on: November 09, 2012, 02:40:32 PM »
a video i quickly put together showing some progress in the latest proof of concept testing for a multiplayer inflight aerial refueling sim... there are some sound drop outs, and the models are basically place holders, and there is still a lot to do, and i've still gotta decide whether or not to make the game multiplayer or from the boom operators viewpoint or from the receiver aircraft viewpoint... or both...

anyways, here it is...

That reminds me the Palomares incident in 1966, only 10 km from my town:

@psikoT  yup... a kc-135 tanker and a B-52 collided way back in the 50s(?) and it took months for em to locate the two nucs that were onboard the bomber... i plan to model both of the planes...

@Roberto  thx Rob... i was originally planning an entire mission... briefing, ride out to plane... take off... enroute flight, refueling, return, and landing... but after rethinking about the amount of work and the capabilities of RAD, i'm thinking maybe just a briefing, a cut scene, then straight to the refueling... and the player gets points for (and this is where i'm still undecided) guiding the reciever aircraft into the refueling envelope and holding it there for the entire fuel transfer, or the boomer controlling the boom and making the contact and transfer...

still a ways to go... thx for the comments...

Maybe you should make a 2 world war game with a little story and blabla and choose sides and so on... like... call of duty 2 but flight edition :D Would be great :)
