How do you flip a model horizontally or vertical?
eg.Let's say I have a model with a handle on the right hand side, but instead I want it on the left. So how do I flip it to do that?

You could rotate it in 3D Rad, but flipping isn't possible. You need to do that in any modeller.

If you use Sketchup you just select model, Tools, Scale. Then choose center point and push 1.0 until it reverses to -1.0 and there you have a mirrored model. Right hand drive car but text is reversed as well if you have any but thats how easy it is.

You have 3 options: Good, Fast, and Cheap. Pick TWO.

Flipping Models won't be achieved-currently-by 3d rad, the only way you can do this is flipping the entire scene by adding a camera and check on Mirror box within its properties, any way you should find a way in your modeler to flip your models .. as for 3ds max you may flip any model by easily clicking on Mirror's modifier and a box will appear has the axis to flip at;

Grab Fragmotion, load the model, export as .x again to same file, but select the "Flip handednes", and it will save the model "reversed" for you.
To flip it back, simply repeat the process. The model keeps all it's animations, textures etc.
