Author Topic: 2059 Racing Level Progress Update  (Read 1036 times)

« on: April 21, 2011, 02:32:56 AM »
Just some random level testing for my game. I've been making way more progress than I ever have.

The video is mainly testing out the new driving model for 2059 Racing. It has improved alot thanks to development of the Pcar.

Lol, yea IDK what happened there.. I must have went a bit crazy with the textures :P

:-X I think the game is going to get even more trippy once I add some more animations for the arrow billboards and speed pads etc.

Car handling looks great, and I like the ceiling texture following the curves in the tunnel!

I'm not a car game person (real cars don't count), but I must say the stuff that some of you guys are doing with the Pcar, has inspired me to make something similar for Unity, which has really crappy vehicles...
Yea Rush, you really rock.

Yea, that was just a little bonus I got from playing with scan location and normals.
The secret behind the shadow is that whenever the car lands a jump, the car orientation gets set to the scan normal for an even more perfect landing. :)

The shadow might possibly show an advantage when several AI cars are added and all need faster shadows. I may even consider impostering them since they are all the same shadow.
