I'm also going to start a new game, since everyone else is. :)

Well not really..

This is just a time experiment really. Since Elite is taking forever with all the planet texturing.. I thought I'd put 3D Rad to the test, and see how fast one can take to write a full working game.. Meshes, animations, database, script, sounds and testing... and an icon.

And 17 hours later.... tada!

It's really just a script, a database, a bunch of skinmeshes and a 1st person cam.

Based on David's idea of using an x-file for vectors.. A quick little utility to import the vertices into a database works just to dandy, Which makes creating waypoints during mesh design time a breeze... Thanks David.

Since the guys I did "Puccyman" for, won't let me share "their" code, I did this one specially for you loop.... The source .3dr is in the zip for you

And of course thanks to 3D Rad. This would not be possible in any other engine... A way "cool toy".

This is a fully compiled game, with runtimes; so there are dll's in there. If anyone wishes to use the resources, keep this in mind.  You will have to make your own index images too.

To play, use mouse to look, and UP-key to walk.

Cool :) it's so scary not having the sidestep though because you never know when a ghost is going to be right a round the corner, well unless your looking at the map of course.

let me guess next is 3drad snuke!

Haha, you asked for it...

Ok it's just a prototype I did a while ago to test the possibility of such a game in 3d Rad...

The problem is that you need to control all the twists and turns of the body, and make the movement smooth, so that it looks good.. Not worth investing the effort for such a small game...

But you can play with it.. Press the spacebar to add another ball to the body.. It does nothing else.

if your planets are 3d, simlpy ignore this reply, but if you need to make a lot of imaginary planets for some GUI try this tutorial in photoshop:

I've made 5 of them in less than 1 hour
