First attempt at a tutorial so bare with me :)didnt spend mush time in school

Things needed...

3ds Max 30-day trial
http://www.autodesk.com/3dsmaxdesign-trial or google it

Panda Directx Exporter Make sure you got the right version for you max and your os

streetpack for 3dsmax contains .3DS .obj

PART 1
Install 3DSMax
install Panda Directx Exporter ,
by copying  the .dle file to your plugins folder found in  C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max\ .
extract 3DSMax Roadpack to your desktop.
start 3dsmax ,go to file , import, and browse and import Roadpack.obj

Select groups to import ALL and click ok.
Now you should see 4 sections of road ,click on to top view point and press F9,
this will render an image ,if it says missing textures click add and browse to the roadpack folder and add the texture folder click ok,you will see 4 roads like image 1.

Select top view point and click the second from left peace of street

Right click on the setion of street and click move,now on the top toolbar click snap.
8,With snap on, hold shift and click hold as below

and drag as shown below and snap into place

click copy and 3 as the number of copy's.
this will clone the road 3x and they will be snapped in line nice.
Press F9 and u should see this

next holding shift again select and drag as shown below

clone with 1 copy click ok

Holding Ctrl select the 3 sections as below



again holding Shift Drag the 3 sections into empty space and 1 copy

With the 3 sections still selected Right click and click the small box next to rotate.


In the rotate box ,rotate X 90 as shown below

With the 3 sections still selected right click and press move.
And drag them as shown below to snap in place.


Using this method continue to make a grid like street system.
