Create a Free Kickass Terrain in 3dRad (part 1)

This is just a jumpstart to get to know the workflow.
I will add more detailed stuff on how to create more car/character friendly terrains in part 2.

It will take you about 4 minutes to get this result :

0. Get software :

   1. L3DT version 2.8 beta2 or newer  http://www.bundysoft.com/L3DT/downloads/standard.php
   2. Fragmotion 0.9.6 or newer         http://www.fragmosoft.com/fragMOTION/download/index.php
   3. Radimp 0.5 or newer                 http://www.3drad.com/forum/index.php?topic=1991.msg14556#msg14556

1. Start L3DT
    Click New Map to start the Wizard

2. HeightField Size
   - Adjust Horiz Scale to 1
   - Click Next

4. Design Map size
   - leave this as it is just Click Next

5. Design Map Parameters
   Play around or just leave as deafult, you can try different Climates.

6. Calculation Queue

   Check :
    Heightfield
    WaterMap
    Attributes Map
    (Lightmap only if you need to bake lightmap into texture)
    TextureMap

    Click Next

8. Water Flooding
      Click Next
      Click Next

9. Texture Settings
      Uncheck Use Lightmap (unless you want baked lightmapping in your texture, see previous section)
      Uncheck Splitmap
      Click ok  and .. wait till colorshow is over...

10. Now Click the 3-D button if you want to see how it looks in 3d.

11. Export

    Right click mouse on the texturemap choose Export->Export OBJ and MTL

     Navigate to c:\3d Rad\import\
     Enter a filename.obj

    Click Save

    You will get a message saying your heightfield contains 2000k triangles, Click yes

    Adjust Max error(m) to a value that gives you   ~  60k traingles.

    Click ok

12. Close L3DT

13. Start Fragmotion

14. Import
    Menu : File->Import
    Navigate to C:\3d Rad\import\

    Choose your newly saved .obj

15. Flip Normals
    Ctrl+A    to select all vertextes
    Menu : Face->Reverse Vertex Order

16. Export
    Menu : File->Export
     Choose filetype Direct X files (.x)
     Click Save
     Check Add Root Frame
     Click ok

17. Start RadImp
       Check Skip Shadowmesh
       Check Copy Mesh
       Check Copy Textures
       Select your .x
       Menu : 3d Rad->Import RigidBody Static
       Menu : 3d Rad->Import SkinMesh

18. Close RadImp

19. Open 3D Rad
    Add your RigidBody, SKinmesh, g-force, a car and camchase and just drive around....

20. PS! If you want to convert this to a Terrain Object (with RadImp), you can do that after you've loaded the rigidbody atleast once in 3dRad.

1. Is radimp.exe in your 3dRad folder ?
2. Have you edited radimpfolders.ini so 1 points to the import directory ? (you only need to do this if 3dRad is not installed in c:\3d Rad\)

Upload your radimpfolders.ini file here or just copy/paste its content.
Also tell me where 3d Rad is installed.
