The easiest way to make a mesh with textures and no modeling expertise is photogrammetrics. Its such a new word spell check don't even know it. Try a search for Strata Foto 3d and check out the 30 day demo. If you cant make a 3d model with that then you are truly S.O.L.

bad start lawrence... you have 2 options:

- learn how to model. I suggest to you Gmax or 3DsMax
- buy models or rent a modeler.

It's all about preference.
Sketchup I find somewhat limited.
3dsmax looks very good but its very very expensive and not for my wallet.
I use Silo 2.1, it's a cheap and easy 3d modeler and has a nice UV tools too.
GMAX is quite usable too. (downscaled version of 3dsmax 6 orso)

thx guys all i need is a script for ma spacecraft i want it to levitate and then fly and with keys tha wen u press it goes faster am not a really good fan at writeing scripts

You ask for skinmesh import then say all  you need is a script  ???

As far as easy goes, Google Sketchup is as easy as you can get. And I agree with everyone else, that Sketchup is very limited. But it has the best plugin right in the program. Though if you have a modeling program that exports to .x, then the importer works like magic :)

As far as scripting goes, you will have to get a basic understanding of scripting and what each thing does. You will not get too far with out a basic understanding.

If you want to make a game, you will need to do that. Asking some one else to do the whole scripting for you then its not your game anymore  ;)

Another thing is also, where is your spacecraft? is it on the ground, is it hovering, is it in space? Look at Shadmars wipeout demo

That one can easily be converted to a space flying demo. changing the water level can be like changing the levetation height, speed and other things can follow. Not sure but maybe it can give you a start :)

If you want to learn to 3d model, look for tutorials on modeling, texturing, rigging and animating. I would recomend using Blender, because it is free and advanced. And has many video tutorials. At forst it looks like a jungle of buttons (I agree it is), but you will only need few shortcuts and keys to make something cool. So search google for shortcuts to extrude, move, rotate, scale etc. and start learning. It took me 2 years to learn 3dstudio max, when I was 18 years old. So be patient, because at the end you will have a lot of fun with game making  ;)
