Good! I am waiting to see this game progressing.

Trackmania is an amazing game... what i meant by arcade genre was the real arcade cabinets, the other day i took a little trip to the country and played Sega Rally (1995) and Racing Jam (1998) and those games still look and play amazing!

The experience is so overwhelming with the force feedback, giant monitors, speakers built into the seat, real e-brake, vibration... and the ever looming timer at top of the screen!
Most of those games made it to consoles and PC, but they all lost this adrenaline shot you get at the arcade.

Besides Trackmania i suggest you guys try a FREE racing mmo called Project Torque, its very well done, and very entertaining!!

...Did you know "Rush2049 SE"...

Thats exactly what i mean... i love 3 kinds of arcade racers:
- the super technical simulation of Sega Rally, Daytona, Scud Race, Sega Touring Car and of course F355
- the trippy atmospheric gameplay of Rave Racer, Rage Racer, Racing Jam, Wipeout, Ace Driver
- the over the top insanity of SF RUSH,  RUSH 2049, Hydro Thunder, 4 Wheel Thunder, Crazy Taxi

Hey guys, since I'm not working on the game (or anything for fun actually) at the moment, because we had some interesting personal challenges to overcome... one of them being a nasty car crash i had 3 weeks ago with a fiends car while racing on a mountain road... we're all alive (I'm especially glad that my wife and boy are OK). The bad part is that the car was not assured and right now I'm working overtime to pay the damage... but its almost done now :) anyway, i don't know why I'm telling you all this, but i felt guilty that i just vanished form the forum and left lots of thing unfinished

anyway, here is a little experiment i did a long time ago, it was done to test the OSA kit in action and show it to a potential client that was (and hopefully still is) interested in doing a browser rally racing game.
so please consider it as a real-time previz, not a demo or a product of any kind...don't be too harsh to it, i did a very quick and dirty optimization: got rid of all the shaders, the reflection is not real-time, all the textures are 256x256 and lower, the cars are pretty low poly and the AI is pretty moronic, no mipmapping, no lod, no antialiasing... you get the picture :) it had to be done in 2 hours for this little low res window it runs in.

i would be interested in the performance you guys get out of it!

*NOTE: The included music is from the menu (not the actual race... the real one you can hear on the youtube videos) and was exclusively composed for G-Racer by ANTONIUM from Mental Architects... if you feel curious you can go to their page and scroll down to the 'video report' video and play it at 00:06:50 to see them having some fun with the main theme of the game.

Thanks for reading and trying it!!

WB Clandestine,

I am glad you and your family are fine .

You shouldn't be racing with them in the car .. :D

Bad luck for the damaged car, what was it ?

---

Trying the demo now :)

Sadly :
It never loads !
What is the size of the whole thing ?

I am on Windows 7 X64 .. maybe that doesnt like OSA ?

I just see loading with a small white loading bar below it but it never changes from about 50%

Look into my eyes , Tell me what you see
You don't see a damn thing , 'cause you can't relate to me
You're blinded by our differences , My life makes no sense to you
I'm the persecuted one , You're the red, white and blue

That is definitely the best looking demo done with 3drad that I've seen!  Very nice job!  I can't wait to see what else you've done to it!  When's it coming?

Well, I am not sure, because I went into the windows temp folder and I could run your project from there without OSA, but the behaviour was the same. The game started to loading, and then it crashs.
My OS is Windows XP.
