Is it possible to make normal maps to different textures in a same model?

I am making a town with over 100 textures. For example I want the brick texture to have it's own normal map. The concrete texture to have another normal map etc. Is it possible instead of only one (000_nm.dds)?

you could take a look at the System Shaders Shadma has given the community.... scroll down to  0090_user_rgb2tx_bumpy_tile which allows you to have 3 different textures on a bumpmapped mesh at the same time...

it's not the 100 different textures that you're seeking, but it may be of some help...

Isn't a bump map basically the same thing as a texture map..

If you map your texture parts to the texture, lets say for simplicity, 4 sections each section assigned to different models or different parts of the model, cant the bump map be designed the same way, with each quarter having a different bump map ?. 

This sounds like the way to go, all though you would or mite need large textures and bump maps to get decent resolution..

yeah, you're missing something...

how many bumpmaps can you have per mesh...
regardless of the number of textures you can normally only have 1 bumpmap per mesh...

the exception is if you use one of Shad's System Shaders that lets you have multiple  diffuse and bumpmaps
on the same mesh...

Or you can manually adjust the tiling of your textures (i guess they're tiling since its a building) and create a sort of what they nowadays call 'atlas' and place all the diffuse materials for your building in one texture and all you normal maps into another. I've been doing this for years and it works.
- In some cases its really easy (when your skin doesnt tile at all).
- If you manage to tile your textures only in one way (for example vertically) you can put various strips on one map (i do my roads this way).



- If the polycount isnt that much of a concern, you can split some surfaces and play with the uv map and make it tile over a piece of the 'atlas'.

There are 2 ways to go about this: either you get creative and find out your own technique to cheat these challenges, or you spend lots of cash for software, scripts, plugins, etc. then find out that there is no magical software and the first way was the smarter one :P
