I FOUND IT!!!!   :D

the screenshot below was supposed to be the target for the last artist challenge...

amazingly enough, the contributions made actually come close to what was intended... to show how close the outdoor lighting effects available in RAD can come close to the lighting here...

i also found this article worthy of mention... although it's specifically aimed  at Doom3 developers, some of the principles are worthy of mention for a general developers audience, and may even be of some help to 3DRAD developers...
