Author Topic: Walking Simulator 2014 [Unfinished]  (Read 700 times)

« on: March 15, 2014, 11:24:38 AM »
The most realistic simulation of walking yet.

This game is just something silly I came up with within ten minutes. The game is currently unfinished and I probly wont ever finish it.

Controls
WASD to move.
Shift to sprint.
Space to jump.
Hold CTRL+SHIFT+F9 to rebind the controls.

Bugs
-Sprinting doesn't quite work yet, you can only sprint in the direction your facing when you first spawn.
-You can hold down the W key and hear footstep sounds when in mid air.
-You can fall out of the level, and when you do so you basically break the game. Because you cant get back into the terrain good job, you have broken the game. ;)
-When you die the camera will glitch. (I havent found out how to teleport a ragdoll to the player location)
-You can sprint when your in the air, when your dead and when your not even moving.
-You can sprint forever.
-Sometimes when you jump, you can clip through the ground and find yourself in the never ending "void".

Planned (If I ever decide to finish it.)
-Completely new terrain instead of the default one and possibly different levels to choose from.
-NPC's
-Multiplayer
-Tripping and falling on your face
-Third person camera
-Swimming and diving underwater
-Respawning when you die
-A button that forces you to blink (So you can spam blink)
-Split screen multiplayer
-Vehicles you can drive, I would have to rename this "Movement Simulator 2014" instead
-Wildlife to eat your face

Features (Right now)
-Sprinting
-Jumping
-Blinking
-Walking (Obviously)
-Dying
-An easter egg! I bet you cant find it! :D
-Music (For walking and sprinting.)

Why not? Lol. We got Toilet Simulator, Goat Simulator, Room Simulator and now Walking Simulator. Also, I don't think pictures are needed. I mean, theres really not much to show at the moment besides the default terrain and all its 2001 graphics galore.

Heres a video of v2. V1 is more of a prototype I guess. But, the next version is hopefully going to have full online multiplayer support as well as some split screen multiplayer and it will have drivable vehicles. :D

hahahahaa... this is some sorta joke, right... half a gig to see what doesn't even look like a person walking...  there's no walk motion... the only suggestion of walking is the sounds...

come on... where's the punch line...

There is too walk motion. :L

When you stand still the camera sways slightly to simulate breathing. When you sprint, this motion is amplified. Its not too visible to v1 though.

Well, who doesn't like a good joke?!

But in all seriousness, if this is so barren right now, it would have probably done better in the off-topic discussion thread. Yeah, you're showing your work, but people like to see previews of upcoming things in off-topic before they go here, because posting it here implies you've got at least a good amount of work done on it.

listen if you want you file size to be as small as possible when your done with your project file? first access you project file in 3drad before you compile it then when it's done loading close the project file make sure you didn't make any changes to the file before closing it or 3drad won't make a cmp file. and a 3drad cmp file basically tells the 3drad compiler what files are being used in the project and what files it needs to put in the compiled projects folder.
did I leave anything out mike or did I pretty much tell every thing needed to know about the cmp files?
