Okay, so I just realized, I don't believe I've ever shown my work before.
I'm making something simple, a little world where you can live as a pony, in the land of Equestria. (props to the bronies in these forums...)
I'm trying to make simple things like, money, shops, homes (spawn areas), etc. I've done it before, I just had to get my computer rebuilt (isn't this the most widely used excuse in the book?)...
So I should show ya'll my progress so far, I guess..

It's not much, but considering how I've posted no work worth posting, I think this is something.
I plan to progress on this game, because I've been wanting to make something like this for a while, but haven't had time (I hate you, school).
Thanks  ;D

Looking cool the ponies look very well done are they animated?  one more quick question are your trees solid or non collidable?

Really? Sounds pretty impressive to me. I'm not a fan of the whole pony thing, but a completed game with things like currency, shops, homes and the like would be no small feat.

It seems simple to me.
Taking a counter, and setting it to read on startup and write on exit. That will keep your currency.
Then a script decreasing that counter, thus taking away money, and using some script to keep that item.
I mean, like I said, I've done this all before, but lost my progress upon formatting my laptop (started running really slow..)
I just have to find the time (and maybe partner?) to do it :p

Looks pretty good right now to me. (I'm no brony but I have brony friends)
Some advice from a gamemaker's standpoint:

- Doesn't Hasbro own the rights to Equestria and MLP? Cause you're gonna have to find a workaround to that. Like base it off of Equestria but you're gonna have to customize it (make it "not" Equestria.) Kind of like people who can't make exact car models for games and then have to re-name them and model them slightly differently.

- And also a game of this nature seems like it would take a lot of background music and voice acting to me. So you probably want to get a sort of text thing like Animal Crossing (character dialogue in text form).

That's the trouble with themed games like this... working around copyright laws...

Good luck anyway!

Seems like Legends of Equestria has been in full force with several million downloads and they have not yet run into a problem, so until then, I plan to keep it like this :)
I have several friends on Skype who do music and voice characters. I have that handled without a doubt, thanks a ton though!!

Millions of downloads sounds like a pretty popular game, and they probably have something worked out with Hasbro by now.
Just saying, they've been known to make crappy business decisions.

It is, on the MLP Forums especially. Hasbro is pretty crappy, I already know that. I know how they act. Ick. :P

Just an update so you know the game isn't forgotten ;D
Today I had re-created the map, to original one would not have worked out. The one I'm making now will resemble the city better than the original, too.
I have also added a pause menu and simple little thingies like a fake radio and better water plane.
I can post picture updates later :D
