some piccies from my latest sub adventure   ;D  testing the active sonar code...

   


 

the box in front of the sub in the lower screenshot is a rigidbody used as a sonar echo, to provide collision with terrain... it shoots out at regular intervals and the distance is measured when a collision id detected...

this is the only means the player inside the sub has to detect submerged terrain 9it won't be as bright and visible as in the test pics, and the deeper you go, the darker things'll get)...

(look carefully at the front of the sub to see the box shoot forward at each sonar ping)

yeah... i think those are sprites... i'd have to look back at the code, it's been a while, but i'm sure that's how i did it...

isn't anybody interested in the sonar stuff??!!!   ;D  ;D  ;D

Looking really great! I like the idea of the sonar and think youve done a great job so far :)
