Author Topic: Some puzzles for people to try out  (Read 325 times)

« on: December 19, 2013, 03:39:21 AM »
I've been working on my current project for a while now. I want the end project to contain a few puzzles which need to be solved in order to complete the game. I haven't really posted much on the puzzling side of things so far. I thought it was about time I got around to it.

Attached are two puzzles which I've made. They aren't completely finished (a few things need to be added here and there) but the logic side of things is pretty much as it would be in the final game.

What do you guys think? I need to know if they're too boring, to hard, or just plain stupid.

The puzzles are complete when the screen fades to black and the project exits.

Cheers,

George.

graphics are great, but what do you do after the first stage of the first level? the rainbow lights light up but other than that nothing happens..?

EXCELLENT G... (i only tried out the first one)

it took me a few minutes to figure out what to do (i be slow at these sorta things :) ),  but all the clues were there.... the sign of a good puzzle...

critiques:  graphics... a lil too much gloss in the bump map... otherwise excellent...  with a lil more sensory feedback (splash sounds when in water, electric arcing noises whent he battery cell charges up,  and click sounds for the buttons, and the player will feel  as if he/she is in a cave...

a few of these strung together where the player progresses towards a goal would make a challenging game... just like the Penumbra series from Frictional Games...

+10  and thx for the lil gameplay...

Fully agree with the above. Looks great, fun to play, but slightly too much gloss.

I don't mean to brag, but I got in under 45 seconds.  ;D

But indeed, a solid puzzle which is very solvable.

Thanks guys for giving this a go. Glad you enjoyed it. I will fix the bump map gloss when I get the chance

Cobbster - have you tried pressing the rainbow  buttons?

Cheers,

George
