I had similar issues, just couldnt get the 000_em to work, yet 000_nm was fine.

I didnt look any further into it, but, there is a way to replace 3drads default Env map file:
- back it up 1st!
- ..\3D Rad\3DRad_res\system\envmap.dds

Hopefully someone else has a "true" fix, but at least the above will let you use your Envmap for now :)

This is confusing me a little, do you need to know the following, or, how to create a envmap altogether?:

"But I'm still confused how do i replace it":
-  ..\3D Rad\3DRad_res\system\envmap.dds - change that file

"how will replacing the envmap file help":
- Replace the system envmap file = change the envmap for all objects that use reflections with refresh rate 0

As i said earlier, i've experienced the same issues when trying to use unique 000_em files. So i just changed the system envmap file (as i only need this one).

hi, if I may add my 2c:
I did get working lot of my own made env maps, the only problem was to make the needed DDS file format correct. it is because it should be a "cubemap", which is a bit special file. it helped me the CubeMapGen tool (by ATI) usage.

you can make for your game the new "global" env map if you replace the 3drad original.
you can make for your game a "personal" env map, if you put it into the curent skinmesh folder.

and of course, the bigger the cubemap resolution will be, the sharper you can see the environment on the skinmesh surface  ;)
